French League TV Channel gets green Light

French TV Channel - Cfoot

French Football League (LFP) president Frédéric Thiriez has reacted with delight to news that the LFP has been given the go-ahead to launch its own subscription television channel in France.
The Conseil Supérieur de l'audiovisuel (CSA) - French broadcasting's regulatory body – announced on Monday that CFoot, the new channel, will have a subscription spot on TNT, making it a top-up channel available to all French households with digital TV. France is currently in the midst of its analogue switch-off.

Thiriez said: “I would like to thank all the members of the CSA for placing their confidence in us. They should be aware that we will put all our energies into this project to give TNT a new lift-off. I would like to thank all the club presidents who were unanimous in their backing for this project and who helped us convince those that mattered.

“I would like to thank everybody who has been involved with this dossier over the past 15 months. The quality of their work deserves to be recognised. I am certain the public will tune into CFoot, a channel 100% devoted to football, which will entertain and inform and bring the football family together.”
