The Champions Trophy – Wednesday July 28 in Radès

Ligue 1 champions Olympique de Marseille and French Cup winners Paris Saint-Germain will battle it out for the 2010 Champions Trophy, on Wednesday July 28 at the 7th of November stadium in Radès, Tunisia.

"It’s the first official match of the new season, and we want to make the most of the occasion in order to promote the image of French football around the globe," explained Jean-Pierre Hugues, the LFP’s General Director, who was in Radès as the France national team drew 1-1 with Tunisia in pre-World Cup friendly.

Last year, the Champions Trophy was held out side France for the first time in its history, making its way to Montréal where 34,068 people – a record attendance for the Champions Trophy – turned out to see the Girondins de Bordeaux take on EA Guingamp at Montréal’s Stade Olympique.

This attendance record may well only stand for one year as the venue for the 2010 edition – the 7th of November stadium in Radès, Tunisia – has a capacity of 60,000.
