
The Standing Committees have an advisory function.The primary objective is to monitor issues, identifying possible problems and making recommendations to the Board of Directors and the General Assembly.
They investigate on certain subjects and they may cooperate of necessary with other EPFL committees and may be supported in their work by external experts. Further, to fulfil their mission, they may set up ad hoc working groups to deal with specific topics.

Standing Committees on:
Professional Football Finance
The Professional Football Finance Committee is responsible of advising in particular, but not limited to the following fields:
- Reports and advices on issues related to club ownership, club licensing systems and cost control mechanisms, solidarity mechanisms and redistribution of revenues;
- Issues related to sports betting;
- Advises upon issues relating to the call up of players for national teams, including compensation for release;
- Reports on and advises in relation to the financial and commercial aspects of European football.
- The Board of Directors guides the Professional Football Finance Committee on the objectives and priorities to be followed
European Union Affairs
The European Union Affairs Committee is responsible of advising in particular, but not limited to the following fields:
- Deals with issues related to political and legal initiatives promoted by both European Union (EU) institutions and its member States with a European dimension;
- Deals with issues related to the European Union including with relation to competition law, employment, freedom of movement and commerce;
- Works with the existing professional football consultative bodies on all relevant issues;
- Discusses the views of other stakeholders in European football and informs the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer accordingly;
- Identifies solutions for improving collaboration between the various stakeholders in European football;
- Supports the position of professional Leagues within the international football environment; and
- Analyses existing policies and recommends new policies measures to improve football governance at the European level.
Social Dialogue
The Social Dialogue Committee is responsible of advising in particular, but not limited to the following fields:
- Deals with issues related to the social dialogue in European professional football matters;
- Lobbies on behalf of the EPFL for greater involvement in social dialogue; and
- Deals with labour matters, such as, by way of examples, contractual relations between clubs and players, image rights and pension funds;
- Advices on the establishment of relationship schemes with European players’ unions;
- Discusses non-social issues, such as, by way of examples, players education/training and doping
