Eredivisie announced an important growth in the number of subscribers to its in-house premium live football channel, Eredivisie Live. During the first half of the 2011/12 football season, the League Channel has welcomed 100,000 new households, reaching the unprecedented figure of 570,000 subscribers.

In addition to that, another 35,000 homes are now benefitting from a free promotional offer, bringing the total number of subscribing households in the Netherlands to 605,000.

Eredivisie Live has become, by far, the most watched premium-TV station in the Netherlands. According to the most recent surveys, over 1.2 million viewers followed each round of the Dutch Premium Football Championship on Eredivisie Live in average during the first half of the current football season, which represents a 34-per-cent growth over the previous season on a year-to-year basis.

Studio Sport, the Eredivisie highlights show, also enjoys an outstanding popularity, with an average audience of 1.5 million viewers for the Saturday show and more than 2.7 million for the traditional Sunday’s programme.
