President Message

Nikolay Tolstykh

The EPFL, Uniting National Professional Football Leagues of Europe with clubs as their basis greatly contributes to the development of the football both in separate countries and in europe as well.

I'd like to wish the EPFL further strengthening of ties with the Leagues, Active Steps in defence of their interests and fruitful cooperation with UEFA and FIFA for the sake of the Beautiful Game.

History

The Russian Professional Football League is split in to two divisions; First Division and Second Division, and are administered by the Professional Football League. The First Division consists of 22 clubs, and the Second Division is split geographically into five zones (West, Centre, South, Ural-Povolzhye, and East) with 73 clubs in total across all zones. After each season, the top two clubs of the First Division replace the bottom two clubs of the Premier League, and Champions of each Second Division zone replace the five bottom clubs of the First Division.
