EPFL and FAO to launch the Professional Football against Hunger

The "Professional Football against Hunger" Solidarity Campaign 2008/2009 will be officially launched on 15 October in Rome, at FAO headquarter, during a Press Conference in the ambit of the celebration of World Food Day (WFD), 16 October 2008. During the event, that will involve football celebrities and political authorities, a series of activities and projects will be announced to the public. Among them, the field visit to FAO TeleFood projects in Africa that will be undertaken by the EPFL and some of its affiliated Leagues.

The EPFL and FAO believe that the support of professional football in the fight against hunger and chronic undernutrition, through this initiative,  represents an important opportunity to convey to society a message of urgency and hope towards universal food security for all.
