Nike Academy player Taser Hassan has secured a contract with League One club Huddersfield Town.
It is another success story for The Nike Academy, launched in conjunction with the Premier League, which is designed to help young footballers who are without professional football contracts force their way into the pro game.
Taser has signed a contract with Huddersfield until the end of the season. The right-winger impressed in a trial with the club, and scored a superb goal for the reserves against Rotherham United on Wednesday.
technical ability
"I have been given until the end of the season to try and prove myself, so my aim is to try and get up to the required level of fitness and then work my way into the first team," he said.
Development coach Paul Stephenson added: "Taser has impressed us all with his technical ability. He has good close skills, can get himself out of tight areas and has an eye for a pass.
"We feel he is worth a chance. The ball is now in Taser's court. The hard work starts here and it is up to him to take this opportunity."
The 18-year-old, who is of Turkish Cypriot descent, was previously on the books of Portsmouth, Gillingham and Brazilian club Atletico Paranaense.
