The club Moss FK from the Adeccoligaen (Second Division) in Norway has not proved positive equity in accordance to the Club licensing Criteria of the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF). If not appealed, this decision will oblige the club to be relegated from Adeccoligaen.
The reason for relegation was that Moss FK did not comply with the necessary economic balance demanded by the Licensing Criteria of the NFF for participation on the professional football competitions in the country. The economic sustainability was considered to be negative by National Court on 31 December 2009. Moss FK has 14 days of appealling deadline and the final decision only becomes clear after the judgment of this possible request, writes the NFF on fotball.no.
If this decision is confirmed, Moss FK must play in the 2 Division (Third Division) in 2010. In this case, HamKam, which ende in the 13th place in Adeccoligaen season 2009, will be offered a place in Adeccoligaen for 2010.
- “It is always sad when clubs, that have the required sporting results to play in their correspondent division, are not able to manage licensing requirements. But the Club License Criteria is a quality assurance tool that is adopted and established, to guarantee that clubs are able to compete on the same terms and to ensure the sustainable economy of clubs. “, said the President of NFF Sondre Kåfjord on the Federation’s homepage.
Furthermore, the Court approved the economic equity of FC Lyn Oslo on the same date. The NFF believes that the reputation of Norwegian football may be affected with the possibility of club bankrupting, but praises the actions of FC Lyn Oslo towards the fulfillment of the requirements demanded by the Licensing Criteria.
- “In light of the situation that FC Lyn Oslo ended up in, we believe that the club has done a good job on cleaning up the balance sheet. The club has established a positive equity within the required date demanded on the regulations, said the Chief of the Club Licensing Council”, Jan Løkling to fotball.no.
