As foreseen in the current Memorandum of Understanding between UEFA and the EPFL , both organisations have established a joint Working Group to address fixture scheduling issues and potential clashes between Leagues matches and UEFA club competitions matches.
For this purpose, the EPFL has created an internal permanent working group under the coordination of the Association’s CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, composed by the following Leagues’ representatives:
The first meeting of the EPFL working Group on Match Calendar matters took place in Nyon on the 23rd of July 2009, whilst an EPFL delegation composed by Mike Foster, Holger Hieronymus, Marco Brunelli and Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros met with UEFA, on 24th of July 2009, at UEFA headquarters, in Nyon, to jointly work on possible solutions and principles concerning the scheduling of matches.
