The French League pursuits its development in the Asian continent. The two new cooperation agreements signed with Hong Kong and Vietnam, offer a level of exposition in this region, starting of season 2010-2011, without precedent.
Broadcasted in more than 150 countries around the World, Ligue 1 is available live for more than 200 million TV spectators. In total, 81 channels present programmes related with Ligue 1 that are translated in more than 50 languages around the world.
In the Asian continent, Ligue 1 is broadcasted in China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
In Vietnam, even though an agreement was already in place with K+, branch of the Channel Overseas, the Pay-Tv channel VCTV, acquired the possibility of distributing between one to three live matches per round, as well as the magazines proposed by LFP and Canal+ Events.
In Hong Kong, Now Tv, television channel of the telecommunications leader PCCW, acquired the exclusivity of broadcasting rights of Ligue 1 for the next two season. In Hong Kong, one million viewers are Now TV subscribers.
The Vice-President of the television channel of the telecommunications leader PCCW, Ms. Janice Lee, is very pleased with this news contract: “We are very satisfied to have the possibility of offering the best of French football to our Tv spectators since the beginning of next season. The broadcasting of Ligue 1, contributes to reinforce our politic of acquiring only the best championships in the world”.
