The Licensing Commitee of the League Association confirmed that it had, based on the recommendation of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (German Football League), granted all
qualified sports team applicants the license to play for the period of 2010/11.
"All the clubs managed to submit their paperwork in a timely fashion, first reviewed to by the DFL, and then finally verified in detail, by the licensing committee. The clubs and corporations that were involved in the early stages of the licensing agreement, have also fulfilled the requirements. Therefore an issue with licensing no longer stands in the way", clarified the Chairman of the Licensing Committee, Harald Strutz.
"Regardless of the already completed procedure, the League Association will continue to work
on the structural reforms in connection with licensing to ensure that economic stability and
equal competition are maintained. For this purpose a committee has already been put in place",
explained Strutz.
In April, the Licensing Committee distributed the terms and conditions for the new season to the
relevant clubs and corporations in some cases, however, there were conditions that were
imposed that needed to be met before the 2010/11 licenses could be granted.
Clubs that have met the stipulated conditions or requirements have been granted the license
and will be tested again in Autumn as part of the post-licensing procedure carried out by the
League Association.
