The league board of directors agreed at their session to establish a scientific advisory board to
address the issue of fans. The panel of high-calibre experts will support with their expertise the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH (German Football League) in the future in all questions regarding the issues of security and spectator behaviour. In addition, the league federation and the DFL will undertake continuous scientific analysis and research as a basis for their decisions.
"With the establishment of this scientific advisory board we are implementing the central measure of our 10-point plan for more security in football, which we introduced together with the DFB last month," said league president Dr. Reinhard Rauball. "We are convinced that scientific evaluation and support will be very beneficial in our efforts for more security in stadiums. We are happy that recognised experts from various areas of science are available for this effort."
Those making up the scientific advisory board are: Prof. Dr. Andreas Zick (University Bielefeld, Institute for interdisciplinary conflict research IKG), Prof. Dr. Thomas Feltes (chair for criminology, criminal politics, police sciences in the legal faculty of Ruhr-University Bochum), Prof. Dr. Holger Ziegler (University Bielefeld, faculty for educational sciences/social work, focus on changing youth welfare), Prof. Dr. Heidi Möller (University Kassel, university professor for communication psychology and psychotherapy) and Dipl. Soz. Andreas Klose (Vice President of the University of applied sciences in Potsdam).
