New clubs in Liga Adelante
Granada and Ponferradina are the first new teams playing in Liga Adelante. Both teams have been promoted by winning the play-offs between the top teams of each Segunda B group. The Andalusians went up after taking benefit of their two-goal advantage in the first leg, in Alcorcón. The locals scored in the first half but were unable to overcome Granada’s resistence.
Ponferradina finally beat Sant Andreu after a never-ending 18-penalty shootout. In El Toralín stadium, the Catalan side equalized Ponferradina’s 1-0 advantage from the first leg, but in the end, the local team claimed victory in the penalty lottery.
