II European Match Day Against Hunger – The “1 Billion Hungry” campaign

The European leagues once again joined forces in the fight against hunger during the second edition of the EPFL/FAO “Match Day Against Hunger held from 22 to 24 October 2010 in support of the "The 1billionhungry petition" and on the occasion of World Food Day.

This truly European event involved 16 European Professional Football Leagues, over 314 professional football clubs and millions of football fans from Lisbon to Novosibirsk (Siberia) and from Glasgow to Palermo, in more than 150 stadiums.

Leagues called upon football fans to go online and sign The 1billionhungry petition requesting that governments give priority to the elimination of hunger.
