Hans "Hansi" Müller, born 27 July 1957 in Stuttgart, is a former German football player.
Hansi Müller was an elegant midfield playmaker with a sweet left foot. He was the rising star of the Bundesliga with hometown side VfB Stuttgart when he won the European Cup 1980 with West Germany aged 22. A brief taste of action at the 1978 FIFA World Cup had prepared him well, and he duly fulfilled his potential in Italy, starting all four games and decorating the team's play with his clever passing and subtle footwork. The tournament would prove to be Müller's international peak.
He went into the World Cup final 1982 but could not repeat the success of the Euro 1980, and despite returning to Italy to play for F.C. Internazionale Milano, he made his 42nd and last appearance for West Germany the following year. There was an excellent Indian summer to his career in Austria with FC Swarowski Tirol , and he was named an official ambassador for the city of Innsbruck at the UEFA Euro 2008.
Müller played for VfB Stuttgart from 1975 to 1982, and later for Internazionale, Como and FC Swarovski Tirol
Müller was an ambassador for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in the city of Stuttgart and was recently named as German Bundesliga ambassador for the EPFL/FAO Professional Football Against Hunger Campaign.

At the start of the year an EPFL delegation including DFL Chief Marketing Officer Tom Bender, Bundesliga ambassador Hansi Müller and 1982 World Cup-winner and tournament top scorer Paolo Rossi visited Egypt as part of the association's work with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization on the country's "TeleFood" projects.
