Fantasy Premier League 10/11 opens

Frank LampardFantasy Premier League is back and it is bigger and better than ever.

The game is now open for the 2010/11 campaign with some intriguing rule changes to make it even more fun.

There are three key alterations for this season:

RECORD NUMBER

The features will enhance the world's most popular fantasy football game which remains free to enter and which looks set to attract a record number of players this season.

Last season, 2,329,148 fans signed up to play the game and the signs are that even more will battle it out for the top prize and bragging rights.

The overall winner of Fantasy Premier League 2010/11 will win a VIP trip for two to a Barclays Premier League match featuring a team of the successful player's choice. The winner's prize includes travel, two nights' hotel accommodation, two match tickets, pre-match meal and £250 spending money.

The person who finishes top of the monthly leaderboard will be declared Manager of the Month and will win a digital camera, an mp3 player, and a Premier League club replica kit of the winner's choice.

For any newcomers, the game is simple. Just pick a squad of 15 players without exceeding your budget of £100m and buying no more than three players from each club.

SCORING POINTS

Squads must consist of two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders and three forwards.
Each week you select your best 11 in any formation providing one goalkeeper and at least three defenders and one forward are selected.

Players accumulate or lose points according to their performances and appearances in each Barclays Premier League fixture.

Fans can add to the fun by joining or forming their own mini-leagues to take on friends and family.
You can play head-to-head each week and/or in a classic league based simply on points accumulated.

You can still enter after the season starts but in order to start scoring points from the opening day, you need to register your team before the deadline for Gameweek 1 at 11.30am BST on 14th August 2010.

WILD CARD

Don't worry if you pick a player who gets injured during pre-season fixtures or is transferred to another club, you can make as many free transfers as you like before the deadline for the first weekend of the new campaign.

Once the season starts player values may change but you can make one free transfer per week. If you do not use your free transfer, it rolls over to the following week when you can bring in two new faces without incurring a points penalty.

Any other player swaps will incur a points deduction - however you have one wild card that can be played throughout the season when you can make as many changes as you like without losing points.

I KNOW THE SCORE

Also open now is our I Know the Score game where players are invited to predict the outcome of every Barclays Premier League fixture.

Points are awarded for predicting the correct score or the right result but you lose points for a wrong guess.

Players select one match as a Banker to treble any points won - but beware, it also trebles any points taken away.

You can also place Insurance on one fixture to avoid losing any points. Click here to enter.
