EPFL and FAO joins forces for the II European Match Day against hunger to be held on 22-24 October 2010 all across Europe.
16 European Professional Football Leagues, over 250 professional football clubs, 125 stadiums and millions of football fans.
Players, Coaches and Referees across Europe will blow the yellow whistle, the campaign’s symbol, signifying that it is time to bring a halt to the widespread suffering caused by chronic hunger.
This year's EPFL/FAO Match Day Against Hunger is a truly pan-European event: the yellow whistle will be heard from Lisbon to Novosibirsk (Siberia), from Oslo to Palermo for a unique message of hope coming from the stadiums of the European Professional Football Leagues.
The 1billion hungry petition has reached 1Million signatures.
