DFL Sports Enterprises is striking out in new directions and to that end recently invited its international television- and licensing partners to the inaugural International Broadcaster Meeting in Munich.
"Over and above the selling of broadcast rights to our partners, we aim to offer them the added benefits accruing from a strategic collaboration", Tom Bender, Member of the Executive Board said in his opening address at the city's Allianz Arena.
China's CCTV, the Dubai Sports Channel, GolTV from the USA and England's Topps Ltd. were just a few of the numerous companies represented at the event. "The Broadcaster Meeting offers our partners not only an attractive programme in terms of content, but also a first-class platform for networking and swapping experiences", commented Dr. Robert Niemann, DFL Sports Enterprises Chief Executive Officer.
The programme encompassed three subject blocks: Bundesliga national, Bundesliga international - Products and Services - and Bundesliga Licensees and Sponsors. Over the course of five presentations per block, the partner companies were updated on all developments and affairs relevant to their collaboration with the Bundesliga. In addition, the licensees EA Sport, Topps and Krombacher took an active role in the proceedings themselves, presenting their own marketing strategies to the other participants. "The Broadcaster Meeting offers a truly unique opportunity to exchange ideas and visions with other marketing professionals," said Chris Rodman of Topps, the licensee for Bundesliga stickers and collectors' albums.
