DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH will approach the future with Christian Seifert as Chief Executive Officer. The DFL boss, who is in charge since 2005, prematurely extended his contract until 2013.
"The Bundesliga moves in a more and more complex economical, technological and political environment with great challenges for the future. Knowing that a strong manager leads the operative business is essential for the league. Christian Seifert is the right man to master the upcoming tasks on behalf of the 36 clubs of the League Association. He has proven that on several occasions in recent years", says Dr. Reinhard Rauball,Chairman of the DFL supervisory board
"With the support of league board and supervisory board, we have sustainably developed the DFL and the league organisation as a whole under difficult framework conditions. I'm delighted that the league wants to continue to go this way, and I really appreciate the trust of the committees", says Christian Seifert. The 39-year-old had joined the DFL board in February 2005 and took over as Chief Executive Officer in July 2005.
