Ligue 2 Broadcasting applications

The Administration Council of the French Professional Football League (LFP) decided, on 7 May 2010, to attribute to Eurosport the right to broadcast Ligue 2, on the Monday night fixtures, for the two upcoming seasons (2010-2011 and 2011-2012).

The Council also decided to launch a Professional Football Television Channel which will focus on the broadcasting of all competition organised by LFP ( Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Coupe de la Ligue and Trophée du Champions).

All other matches transmissions will be reserved to this new Television Channel.

The Administration Council observed with satisfaction the high number of acquisition of rights application for the broadcasting of this competition for the upcoming three editions (2010, 2011 and 2012). Four Television channels (Canal+, Direct 8, France Télévision and M6) already made a proposal. The Council believes the offers must be increased. The decision will be take when a proper proposal is presented.
