The fixtures for the 2012 Finnish Veikkausliiga season have now been released.
The new campaign kicks off on Sunday 15th April. Champions HJK Helsinki begin the defence of their League title at home to IFK Mariehamm, while runners-up FC Inter play away to FF Jaro.
2012 fixtures were developed also considering undesirable clashes with other premium sporting events which may “compete” with Professional Football for the Finish audience’s attention; in particular, with the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships which will take place in Finland this year.
“I hope this season to keep excitement high until the end, as it was the case last year” said Lasse Lehtinen, President of the Finnish Football League Association.
