The Premier League is deeply concerned about the situation around the match between Metalist Kharkiv and Karpaty Lviv during the season 2007/2008. We believe that the Committee on ethics and fair play and the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Football Federation (UFF) and the other competent authorities of the UFF dealing with the case, must clearly and impartially investigate it. By this time, we urge representatives of clubs and officials of the federation to stop with the allegations that were ultimately submitted to the media. We consider an outrage the use of such investigative techniques in such an egregious case.
If the guilty will be found and punished, the Premier League would support any sanctions to be applied to them.
Premier League condemns such phenomena as match-fixing and guarantees its assistance in investigating this case. We must work together to fight for a clean football!
