The Russian Football Premier League (RFPL) celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a Gala event, held on 13th December at the Moscow’s entertainment centre «Golden Palace». The EPFL, represented by its CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros participated as guest of honour. The event counted with the participation of all clubs which have competed in the Russian top division during this successful decade as well as all League’s current and former leaders and commercial partners.
During the gala, Sergey Pryadkin, EPFL Board Member and RFPL President, stated: “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the creation of the Russian Football Premier League. The League has grown during this decade, and will further develop in the future. With the support of our colleagues, partners and media we will work together for the benefit of Russian football”
The Russian Premier League became member of the EPFL in 2007, having since its affiliation a very active involvement in the EFPL bodies and initiatives.
In his address to the Russian professional football family, the EPFL CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros stated: "Russia is a strong football nation, with a long and successful history. But Russia is mostly future. It's the 2018 World Cup, which will transform the entire landscape of the country. It's the Russian Premier League, delivering exciting and high quality football weekend after weekend to millions and millions of passionate football fans". The role of the Premier League, on and off the football grounds, and its President was praised by the EPFL CEO with words of congratulations for the League's 10th anniversary.
On the occasion, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros and the RFPL President Pryadkin had the opportunity to discuss in a positive and informal fashion several matters of common interest, fostering to strengthen the cooperation between the League and the EPFL.
