The Portuguese Football League (LPFP) organized a Conference about the upcoming chances of a regulated online gaming market, the first of its kind held in Portugal, on 10th February 2010.
The objective of this event was to initiate a facts-based discussion on the advantages of a regulated online gaming framework taking into consideration today’s market reality and status of technical development.
The event looked at the experiences in this sector in different EU Member States from a general, financial, sports related and responsible gaming perspective. It provided also the opportunity to exchange views and contribute in a pro-active way to a constructive dialogue in the interest of all stakeholders.
Overall, It was centered in three blocks:
- Paving the way to online sports betting regulation
- Financial assets of the online gaming industry
- Sports and bookmaking: A question of responsibility
