The EPFL Associate Member Leagues have gathered in London for the first Summit of non-Premier Professional Leagues in Europe.

The meeting, co-hosted by The Football League, saw the active participation of the Lega Serie B, the recently formed second Italian League representing 22 professional clubs; the Italian Lega Pro whose membership reaches 77 current clubs; the new National Football League of Russia representing 20 professional clubs; and the Association of Professional Football League of Russia representing 14 professional clubs.

Following an introduction made by the EPFL regarding the current structure, organization and governance of the Leagues, its Associate Members’ representatives had the opportunity to discuss about the current objectives, challenges and initiatives for the current football season 2011-12 and share best practices in different areas of professional Football management such as: Solidarity Systems, Digital Marketing, Brand Identity, Sports Betting Integrity and Social Responsibility.

At the end of the meeting, the EPFL had the chance to anticipate its Global Strategy Plan 2011/2012 which shall be officially presented during the upcoming Association’s General Assembly in Kiev, Ukraine, and promote an exchange of views among the participants on those international matters impacting on non-premier leagues.
