EPFL attends DFL annual general meeting

Dr. Reinhard Rauball unanimously re-confirmed as League Association President

The 36 clubs of the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga have unanimously confirmed Dr. Reinhard Rauball as President of the German League Association for a further three-year term.

Joint vice-presidents Peter Peters (FC Schalke 04) and Harald Strutz (1. FSV Mainz 05) were likewise re-elected without any dissenting votes. The remaining places on the League Association board are taken up by Heribert Bruchhagen (Eintracht Frankfurt), Karl Hopfner (FC Bayern München), Helmut Hack (SpVgg. Greuther Fürth) and Ansgar Schwenken (VfL Bochum), as well as the DFL executive trio Christian Seifert, Holger Hieronymus and Tom Bender.

Supervisory board elected

The annual general meeting also saw the election of the DFL supervisory board for the coming three years. Taking up their places there alongside Reinhard Rauball and Peter Peters will be Dr. Heinrich Breit (SC Freiburg), Roland Kentsch (MSV Duisburg), Stephan Schippers (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Erwin Staudt (VfB Stuttgart).

The meeting was attended by the EPFL CEO Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, as a special guest of the German League. On the occasion , the EPFL CEO welcomed the confirmation of Dr. Rauball as League Association President to give continuity to the exponential growth of the Bundesliga and further enhance the excellent relation between the DFL and the EPFL. Dr. Rauball is member of the EPFL Board of Directors since 2007.

During the meeting, the EPFL CEO sized the opportunity to meet several DFL executives and address several issues currently facing Professional Football, both at German and international level.
