DFL CEO Christian Seifert

The Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) welcomes the decision of the Federal Cartel Office on Friday 13 January 2012, which approved the tender process of audio-visual exploitation rights of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga matches for the 2013/14 football season on the basis of the commitments made by the DFL.

As consequence, the above-mentioned rights could be tendered in accordance with the timeframe announced by the DFL on 19 December 2011.

"This is a big step with regard to the not yet granted media rights. The competitive principles underlying the tender are now clear," said Christian Seifert, chief executive officer of the DFL.
The EU Commission had also given the Federal Cartel Office's decision its own approval.
