DFL Chief Operating Officer Holger Hieronymus
The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH has briefed members of the Association of European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) on the methodology and certification procedure in operation at Germany's youth training academies. Using the example of workshop hosts 1. FC Köln, DFL Chief Operating Officer Holger Hieronymus expanded on the working methods and process of certification employed at the youth academies to around 30 invited guests from UEFA, the DFB and a number of European clubs.
“Germany's recent U-17, U-19 and U-21 European Championship victories are the best possible evidence of the excellent work being done at the youth training academies in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. As the EPFL also serves as a medium for the interexchange of experiences and practices, we were more than happy to fill in the member associations on the success of our work and, in particular, the certification procedure for the youth academies”, DFL COO Holger Hieronymus explained.
