From this year's fall, the Bulgarian Professional Football League (BPFL) and the Higher School of Insurance and Finance (HSIF) will start a joint program for training bachelors in the field of finance and marketing. This was announced by Valentin Mihov, President of the BPFL at a press conference. “Our goal is to invest in people who after concluding their football career shall contribute to the development of our sport in Bulgaria” said Mihov.
Every school year the HSIF management will grant three scholarships for major “Sport Finance” to football clubs’ representatives proposed by the league and selected upon an admission competition. BPFL shall also make contribute to the project development with finance and organizational assistance. During the first three years the training will be general- comprehensive while in year four the students will be intensively trained in the field of sport and in particular – football.
The aim of the project is to provide an opportunity for professional realization after the end of the sport career of such students who actively play during their studies and at the same time to train highly qualified managers that are extremely needed for the Bulgarian football. The curriculum will be completely adapted to the professional assignments of those who were enrolled to the major.
The anticipations are that about 20 people will graduate every year and the tuition fee per term will be about EUR 900. The intention is to introduce masters’ degree training and remote training as well in the field of sport.
